Distribute without re-litigating

Lesson 5 of 6 · Minutes & Actions

1 · Learn the move · Context + audience

Minutes reopen the meeting when the email around them invites it. "Let me know your thoughts" is an invitation to relitigate, and you'll spend Thursday refereeing. Write for the reader instead: actions and dates at the top where the people who owe something will actually see them, minutes attached, and one correction line with a hard deadline, factual corrections by Thursday 5pm, after that the record stands. Send it the same day, while the room still remembers. The email's job is to close the meeting, not host round two.

Write the distribution email for these minutes. Reader: the people who were in the room, some of whom will want to reopen it. Shape: one line of context, the action table for the people who owe something, minutes attached, one correction line with a hard deadline and what happens after it. Bans: no "thoughts welcome," no "let me know if I missed anything," no summary of the discussion. Under 130 words.

2 · Your turn. You write the prompt

Tuesday's leadership minutes are clean and six people were in the room, two of whom argue with the record every month. The minutes have to go out today. Write a prompt for the email that carries them without reopening the meeting.

Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.

Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
